Scripture memory is hard—but it doesn’t have to be! We’ve created a proven system that makes memorizing God’s Word easier, faster, and helps you retain what you learn longer.
The Method:
SEE IT.
As you read the text, keep looking over at the images.
SAY IT.
Read the words out loud. Even if it’s just a whisper, saying the words aloud while looking at the icons will solidify the phrase you pair with each picture you’re seeing.
HIDE IT.
Cover the words to each image and say the phrase while only looking at the picture. Reveal and hide the text as needed, until you’re comfortable saying it from memory. Then move on to the next image and repeat.
WRITE IT.
You’ll think you know a passage until you have to write it. With the text hidden, write the first letter of each word in the passage. It’s
a foolproof test for finding how accurately you’ve learned it.
This whole process will only take a few minutes.
Come back to it again and again to ensure you still have it. If you can write the first letter of each word from memory the next day, then you’ve got it! At this stage, you can keep reviewing all the verses you’ve learned or begin working on memorizing another. If you don’t have it memorized, simply go through these 4 steps again—it will likely get faster & easier each time you review.
